Hi and thanks for any help in advance.
2006 STS 4.6 rwd.
When in park I can not change my configuration. For instance, when pressing vehicle the suspension options remain unavailable and greyed instead of selectable.
If I try to change any settings after selecting configuration I receive a banner message that says Vehicle personalization system error.
In addition the passenger side view mirror adjusts to the point where the side view mirror pops 3 times because the car adjusts the mirrors viewimg angle view up that far.
And the navi says it needs a map disk although there is one in it.
The navs been saying that for 2 years this personalization error started 2 weeks ago.

Looking into getting a new set of tires. I noticed that on my STS V6 the sizes are different. My question is can I buy just one complete set of the same size that will not compromise any handling or TPMS settings. I'm not an aggressive driver and the car is used mostly driven back and forth to work and out of town every now and then. The rear has 255/40/17 and the front 235/50/17. would it be best to go with the front all around or the rear size all around. there seems to be plenty of clearance on the front wheel well

So a few weeks ago on a trip my cel wa flashing for a few seconds and came off and on and you guys suggested I get my car to the shop. I just thought it was bad gas so I tried some cleaner and better gas. Long story short I get home keep hearing some noise from my engine (turned out to be my front break sensor I would hear the noise when I was driving and not breaking so I didn't think it was my brakes) so I took my car to the dealer. They ended up replacing 1 coil and gasket, 6 spark plugs (not bad but changed them anyway since they were already in there), 2 motor mounts, front brakes and rotors, fuel filter, oil change and a few other random little items. My 3rd party warranty covered $1555.24 and I paid right around $1000 for the rest of the items. The car runs great now and I'm glad I took it in and got some stuff taken of that needed to be, so thanks for the advice.
However I do have 1 question for you guys would any of the repairs they did to my car cause my cruise control to not work. When I picked up my car yesterday I noticed my cruise control would not come on. I know it worked prior to me dropping it off.

Hey guys, I've just bought a 2005 STS with bose and non nav. I've been trying to find a way to input an aux into the stereo, I've googled and searched this forum and came up clean besides N*Caddy's post but the images are no longer there. I've got a free FM modulator I could wire it into, not sure if in the XM or the stereo. Or what would be a better way if anyone knows?

Hey everybody, i need a little assistance here. Recently came into ownership of a 1997 Cadillac Seville STS w/bose.
My previous car was a 95 Cadillac Deville, without bose, all i did was purchase an aftermarket clip and plugged an aftermarket radio into and away i went. But I have heard it's not so easy regarding the bose systems. I would love to know if a full double din radio is compatible with the vehicle. Websites like sonic electronix and crutchfield say its not, but CarID.com says they are. I would really love to squeeze a 7in touchscreen navigation double din stereo into this beut. Where do i start? What all needs to be accomplished in order for this to work?

Hi all, I have a 2006 sts and I have an issue with the radio changing stations, volume, and switching CDs. Seems like it happens more when the heated wheel is on. Also the light on the softkey button all the way to the left on the wheel is out if that matters. I'm at a loss to what to do here. I can't afford to dump a ton into this thing but I see you guys are extremely knowledgable on here and Id appreciate any thoughts/ ideas. Thanks

2007 STS, having trouble removing the red rear side marker to replace bulb (moisture got inside, from bulb seal I assume). Any tricks on removing the marker? Tried a really thin hook but nothing.

I'm replacing all my front lights... Headlights, etc...
I used Walmarts digital device to look up the part numbers I need. Everything matched what I've read on here, but the fog lamps are part number 9145, made by Sylvania. That's what came up on the readout when I looked for 2006 STS fog lamps. The one I found on here is H3-55W. They don't look the same. Does anybody know if the 9145's will work? Thanks!

I am the proud owner of a new (to me) 2008 STS-4. It's my 5th Caddy, only the 1st and 3rd of which did I get new. It only has 52K miles on it, and I think I may have some issues that need resolution. Since I have several questions, I'm going to give each it's individual thread. My suspension seems to me to be a little funky. The car has the 1SG package, and it also has the FE3 magnetic shocks and the F55 chassis damping. When I hit bumps, it seems to me there is an inordinate amount of clunking. In fact, when I hit a bump with just one of the front wheels I get a quick oscillation in the steering wheel. So, I'm looking for suggestions as to what I should be looking to repair/replace.

Hey All! Just wanted to post my findings regarding MRC connectors and pigtails.
Two months ago I purchased a 2006 1SG, black on black knowing full well going in that the shocks needed replacing. What I didn't know was that all four shock connectors were cut off and replaced with resistors. Needless to say, this resulted in alot of research and deadends, but persistence paid off. I now have the front 2 shocks back to OEM and working as expected. The back shocks are next. Below is a pic of the parts needed to get yourself back to OEM MRC shocks. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hey guys!
When my HVAC starts up, it has that awful feet/mold smell, so I bought a can of Kool-It AC cleaner.
But I can't find the AC drain tube where you're supposed to insert the hose for the cleaner. Where is it?
It looks like it's supposed to be under the driver's side somewhere, but I can't find it. I suppose it looks like a duckbill right?

Recently started having issues where both cold and warm starts, either button or remote, the car doesn't always start. When the issue happens, I hear a single click coming from either the dash or the engine bay and then the CEL comes on. I toggle accessories on/off and eventually it'll start. Battery was replaced last month and Carmax checked the battery, starter, and alternator to be fine. They did pull a code B1440 in the BCM (?) but couldn't go any further.
I'm taking it to a dealership to have an engine diagnostics run. Has anyone run into this issue and found a solution so I know what to expect? I couldn't find much searching various forums other than remove/reapply negative lead on battery as a band-aid solution or replace the entire ECM.

Hi...my name is Gary...I do not own an STS yet but might in a day or two...
I have ran across something with these cars that I need help understanding...
Both cars that I am considering have what I thought was a DVD player and Navigation...
Now from what I understand the Nav is DVD driven...???
I don't get it...I had a 2008 GMC Yukon with Nav and as far as I know it just ran off GPS like all others that I know about...
How does a Nav work from a DVD...??? How can it stay current...??? It just seems kinda funky to me...
Also...is that DVD unit capable of playing DVD movies as well...??? (Not while driving of course)
Also...one of them is an 08 but the other one is an 09 AWD...is the AWD a big deal...???
Does it add much value to the car...???
Thank you for any help given...I am looking forward to coming here on a regular basis...

Hey all,
Anyone savvy on the subject of the PKE transmitters? I was able to successfully pair my fob left over from our old 2009 CTS (last gen rectangle type) to my 2005 STS without a hitch. I then assigned the original fob to slot 2 for my wife. This works despite the FCC ID's being different (M3N65981403 vs M3N5WY7777A). I have read that these need to match, so apparently not? Perhaps the M3N commonality is sufficient? Maybe the FCC ID is irrelevant?
Anyway, my question is whether the newest gen fob (most 2014 and up models) is compatible with our car.
Any ideas?

I had my headlamps changed, along with the fog lights and front running lights. I didn't have the city lights changed because I've heard that the housing can break when removing them. They both worked, but the passenger side one wouldn't come on sometimes unless you tap on the lens directly in front of it.. Apparently a loose connection..
Anyway... Since the lamps were changed the passenger side city light doesn't come on, even if I tap the lens. I'm wondering if it's possible to get to the city light without removing the whole bumper again. I'd like to try to get the connection back. Thanks!
